Really, now that I think about it I can’t imagine a single good reason to require anything else, except as a means to stop people voting.

My state requires a birth certificate for any new voters. Some sort of other thing for us foreigners, passport will do. I had to get my driver's license renewed and it showed the voting status too. Nothing new asked for ID. But the state does go out of their way to send all Nebraskans a birth certificate for free. Encourages the younger voters. ID not required at polling place.
