There are only two notable ones. Others: Pramila is quite intelligent and as far left as we normally go.

Freedom Caucus (20 or so) walked out of budget talks. Apparently Medicaid was not all eliminated and Medicare not enough.

BraveAI wrote:The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act is a bill that would require all Americans to prove their citizenship with documentation when registering to vote or updating their voter registration information. Specifically, the bill would mandate that individuals provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a passport or birth certificate, when registering to vote in federal elections. Under the SAVE Act, states would be prohibited from accepting and processing voter registration applications unless the applicant presents such documentation. Additionally, the bill would require states to establish alternative processes for applicants to submit other evidence to demonstrate their citizenship status
So requiring that voters demonstrate they are voters is suppressing who's vote?

Wait, are you under the impression that they don’t know who is a citizen? Christ that would be crazy! Me, I just signed up with an address, birth date and ss number.

If they can’t verify me with that it’s their problem, not mine.

Really, now that I think about it I can’t imagine a single good reason to require anything else, except as a means to stop people voting.

My state requires a birth certificate for any new voters. Some sort of other thing for us foreigners, passport will do. I had to get my driver's license renewed and it showed the voting status too. Nothing new asked for ID. But the state does go out of their way to send all Nebraskans a birth certificate for free. Encourages the younger voters. ID not required at polling place.

Medicaid, which pays for grannies in nursing homes, seen by Johnson as tool to get young men off the couch:

After passing a budget that aims to cut Medicaid by $880 billion in ten years House Speaker Johnson says: "You return the dignity of work to young men who need to be out working instead of playing video games all day."

I have to show ID. But registration requirements should be minimal.

Of course four Democrats voted for it, because otherwise noncitizens might vote or something.

Look, they know who’s a citizen so why not automagically register all citizens? You wanna vote, show up.

Seriously, explain the crime of registering someone else to vote?
