Not in socialist Norway either. Everyone brings their own lunch
Yeah but svartpølse sandwiches and lutefisk on the side wouldn't go over well in Merka.

LOL - that looks disgusting.

And, I take it that is Finland. Let's see some evidence that middle and high school kids eat off of tableware and use silverware for forks and knives and have glass chalices to drink their milk out of.

I'm pretty sure you can choose your lunch yourself when you bring it to school. And I think a lutefisk lunchbox would get you ostracised even in Norway

Awwwww. If local accountability works so well, then why were school lunches always crap?
I would respond to this, but the fact that you're utilizing Atheism+-speak and making a statement reminiscent of Skepchick mocking of the "fee fees" of the "privileged" made me throw up a little in my mouth. I'll give this a pass, and hope that you aren't an example of those jack-a-lopes succeeding in changing the zeitgeist.

Yeah, because kids vote. :hehe:
My meaning was this is all the GOPpies have to complain about. :coffee:
You mean other than the still shitty economy, the skyrocketing debt adding $1.2 trillion a year, more debt monetization and quantitative easing, high inflation on necessaries, doubled gas prices during the Obama administration, unemployment over 8% and real unemployment at about 11%, lowest percentage of population in the workforce in like a half century, taxmaggeddon on the horizon in 90 days, a shitty housing market, lowest homeownership rates in decades, 47 million Americans on food stamps, the shittiest economic recovery in nearly a century, anemic growth in both jobs and gdp (barely keeping us out of a "technical" recession)....

Peak unemployment in the early 1980's was higher than it is now -- and back then it was coupled with extremely high inflation and very high interest rates at the same time. That's what Reagan inherited, and nobody went around saying "he can't fix it immediately!!!" He did the right economic things in his first term and got it turned around. Today, interest rates are way down and inflation, we are told, is fairly low -- back then inflation was in double digits and interest rates were so high people had mortgages with rates like 10% and more - for the last 8 years, interest rates for mortgages have been like 4% to 5%.

If Obama can't fix it, then move on. Let someone else have a go.
He can fix it. He just needs cooperation, and he's not getting any from Republicans. He also needs more time. With everything you listed, no one could fix it all in one term, especially with no cooperation.
Nobody could fix it in one term? Under Reagan, he inherited higher unemployment, 10+% inflation, 10+% interest rates, and a stagnant economy, highest gas prices ever, with a country in malaise just 5 years after the fall of Saigon. In four years, inflation was down, interest rates were down, gas prices were down, unemployment was down, and taxes were down.

And, again, for the first 2 years of Obama's term, he didn't need "cooperation" from Republicans. He had unprecedented support from a Democratic House of Representatives and Democrat Senate. He had far more "support" than any other President ever had. He used his first 2 years, though, to spend his political capital on Obamacare instead of fixing the economy.

Um, athletes aren't privileged in high school? They don't get a ton more resources thrown their way? It isn't common to cut them a lot of slack in grading and behavioural discipline so they can stay on the team? I'm using the olde fashioned meaning of privileged here in case you didn't notice.

Now these children think they're horribly oppressed because their special interests weren't taken into account. They're all like "Obama: don't do that!"

I'm not the skepchick in this situation. These football brats are.

And since when have children not complained about school lunches?
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Usually just brødskiver with pålegg of various sorts. And you can pay for your kids to get milk every school day.

no.

Only funding for the sports they play in.

Not in high school. College, yes.

Err...no...they just seem to think the new food sucks, and the portions are too small given their activity level. Not all students sit around playing video games after school. Those that are active need more than 2000 or 2500 calories per day. If I only ate 2500 calories per day during high school, I would literally have passed out. I studied in college level and advanced placement courses, and played two sports. I probably burned around 1500 calories in soccer practice alone, and a similar amount if not more in a game.

I just think it's hilarious, as is the predictable scrambling from Obama devotees to justify everything they do.
