The commentator on fox just said that the packers have a good back end.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Football commentating is hilariously sexual, and sounds a lot like latent homosexual talk. :hehe:

Which is probably why she went unnoticed among a crowd of Christians.

Generally speaking, their hits are 1/2 as hard, though.
Ian wrote: Exactly! Europeans always get hung up on the armor worn by American footballers. But there's a very good reason why American football requires extensive padding!
Flawed logic. The body armour allows players to charge headlong into each other, at full pelt, and significantly reduces the risk of serious injuries. Without armour, each tackle comes down to the skill and daring of the players - they could hit as hard, but it's a big risk if they do. Saying American footballers hit harder is like saying a ram can headbutt harder than a lion; technically true but rather irrelevant.
A problem with your statement is that American football players used to not have pads, but the pads became necessary as the game's rules evolved resulting in the game involving much harder hits. They don't hit harder because they have pads, they have pads because they began hitting much harder.

Point well taken -- perhaps the phrase should be "a standard of beauty not attained or which is unattainable by the vast majority..."

They are probably MORE attainable by you because of your wedding ring than without it. Perhaps you mean to say that you choose not to seek to attain them, by virtue of being married (which is commendable), but I am quite sure that with the right suit, your wedding ring, and the implication that you have a great, big, thick wallet, you could attain one or more of them with relative ease...

You've no doubt missed news of the off-season shenanigans.

The Buckeyes are missing their 10-yr head coach and their All-American quarterback. Let's just say that this is a rebuilding year.

Them and the Patriots. :awesome:

How can I root for both, you ask? 'Cause I'm from Hartford, Connecticut, and people who grow up there are split right down the middle between Giants and Patriots, Bruins and Rangers, Celtics and Knicks, Red Sox and Yankees. I reserve the right to root for both (besides, Giants are NFC and Pats are AFC). And 'cause I follow college football much more than the pros anyway. And 'cause I just don't give a damn.
