But the things he's talking about are all the obvious stuff that Congress politically is likely to have the will to do. There is more he can do in the Executive branch as well, and many economists making suggestions. Many of the suggestions can be used together. We'll have to see what happens. I have rather the impression he's spent the last three years cleaning up the mess made by Chimpy the Smirk, and now he's ready to get down to it and rassle with the Republicans. His timing looks fair, and maybe even good.

I don't have high expectations at this point, though it's pretty clear he intended to pivot, that he has, and that he has at least the initiative if not the tactical advantage. We'll see. The Republicans are the Flacks; they often have the advantage in messaging. On the other hand, he didn't get to be President by not knowing politics, and this one looks pretty well calculated to stymie their usual delay-deny-whine-game the system bullshit.
$8,000,000,000,000 should be enough. Come back and see me when you raise that on the international markets today? :hehe:

You already got one Hindenberg, you trying for another one?

If you don't know anything about economics, what are you talking about "international markets" for? Do you even know how the US raises money?

The first issue of Australia's 50 cent coins was an amalgam, 25% of which was silver. Shortly after the issue the price of silver went up. And up and up. When the value of silver exceeded the face value of the coin by a worthwhile margin, 50 cent pieces suddenly became as rare as hens' teeth. People melted them down, separated the silver portion and made a nice little profit.

Oh, I didn't mean exclusively silver or gold. But I do like the idea of high $ value coins.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

So basically you know nothing about economics but you want to spout about it all the time, and no one's supposed to criticize you.

OK.

If there's any expert astrologer I shall say nothing. You can see by the state of the planet economics is so wrong...so fundementally flawed it should be thrown out of science and placed inside the woo-box where it safely belongs. :coffee:

No, I have no solution. The global economic system is gonna collapse like a house of cards and we will return to a very small population. That is true. :smoke:
