Do you think that might be due to it only running for two seasons? Or would that make too much sense?

No, it would be because they couldn't sell the "plot" for the third season to anybody at the network.

I personally didn't even get by the first half of the pilot of "The Event" so I'm surprised it even got commissioned. Think yourself lucky you got a season or two out of it because you were probably the only person watching it by the end.

They only had the confusing flashbacks for a few episodes before they started telling the story in a straight line to stop confusing people. Personally, I thought the fractured story-telling of the first few was great.

It really wasn't that hard to follow.

Hell, the acting was far better than most of the stuff that gets renewed over and over again.

I hit that a lot. Confused "Skyline" with "Battle: Los Angeles" before I'd seen either and really fucked up some comments at JREF. Merry confusion ensued.
