Re: Hitler, Nazism and the British
Millions of people starve in their own homes anyway - at least they did in that timeframe and in those parts of the world - provide your evidence to how the British added "bigger and better" amounts of starvation to the prevailing total than the nazis did, or else concede that your argument was hyperbolic. (I am not claiming that they did nothing to cause hardship, suffering and death, simply that they did nothing approaching the scale of Hitler's Germany - all you have to do is prove me wrong with a few well chosen citations...Crumple wrote:I was hyperbolic, we allowed millions of people to starve in their own homes like civilized folk do.Xamonas Chegwé wrote:Very true. Re-rail: IIRC Hitler went into one of his infamous rants upon learning that the British had decided to enter the war on the other side.

Hitler respected the British and considered them to share many of the qualities possessed by Germans. In Mein Kampf he argued that to achieve his foreign policy objectives, Germany would probably have to form an alliance with Britain. "No sacrifice," Hitler wrote, was "too great if it was a necessary means of gaining England's friendship."

Re: Hitler, Nazism and the British
I seem to recall that even after the start of the War, the Nazi Party had hopes of Britain becoming an ally, which was why Rudolph Hess ended up being captured here in 1941, he came as an envoy to sue for peace.

Hitler wasn't quite badass enough to suit the British at the time?Audley Strange wrote:I seem to recall that even after the start of the War, the Nazi Party had hopes of Britain becoming an ally, which was why Rudolph Hess ended up being captured here in 1941, he came as an envoy to sue for peace.

I was reading coincidentally about Hess recently. That's correct, though it was more his own idea than anything Hitler had authorized.Audley Strange wrote:I seem to recall that even after the start of the War, the Nazi Party had hopes of Britain becoming an ally, which was why Rudolph Hess ended up being captured here in 1941, he came as an envoy to sue for peace.

Re: Hitler, Nazism and the British
That site's pretty good. It's apparently prep for tests of some kind. The article on Hitler is good, and there are plenty more about lots of other public figures from many different countries from both the First and Second World Wars. Not very deep, mind you, but quite wide, if you see what I mean. Apparently you guys' tax money is paying for it; schoolnet.co.uk is probably a private IP address, but I bet it's publicly funded. I might find out after I read some more articles.Xamonas Chegwé wrote:Mein Kampf = Fail Blog!Schneibster wrote:Re-rail: IIRC Hitler went into one of his infamous rants upon learning that the British had decided to enter the war on the other side.

British empire was basically created via subtle manipulation of its subjects so they were always against each other than the empire with the occassional brute force as a last resort
French was big on integration giving all under its rule got citizenship
Germans were big on killing inferior tribes long before Hitler even back to the 19th century
Now the Belgiums there really were complete bastards proportionally out killing everyone
