What is the most badass technology not developed by humans?
I'm suggesting nuclear fusion. But I stll have high hopes for that.
So maybe hover boots.
But I have to settle on the condom. It's the answer to HIV, overpopulation, manmade global warming, and famine.
But nobody wants to use the fucking things. Invent a condom that men actually like, and you could buy out Bill Gates, and save the world.

While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

Fusion is good. It might save our butts in the long run.

I'm mad keen on fusion myself. But I have a sneaking suspicion that if I talked to the people doing the research, I would come away a lot less optimistic than I am now. Otherwise there would be a lot more effort going into it.Gawdzilla wrote:Fusion is good. It might save our butts in the long run.
I hope I'm wrong though.

Specifically, you want "cold", table-top fusion. The kind that would go in a basement and supply an entire household, or drive a vehicle (although the vehicle could be charged from the home system routinely.)mistermack wrote:I'm mad keen on fusion myself. And women .. The fucking things are crap in practice ... but yeah, agree that they're a necessary and significant innovation, whatever form they take .. Good one.mistermack wrote:But I have to settle on the condom. It's the answer to HIV, overpopulation, manmade global warming, and famine.

Except it ain't technology, it's a natural process.Gawdzilla wrote:Fusion is good. It might save our butts in the long run.

Well, later you did.
It was more to the OP's once again failed grasp of science.

Fusion is definatly up there for a free energy source.
Teleporters (not the piddly one that did one photon, the full Star Trek do-hickey)
Light Sabers
Worm Hole Technology
Solar Sails
Cybernetics (capable of merging my brain with a machine so I could live forever)
Affordable quantum computers.
Hover Board
Antimatter fuel cells
Alcoholic beverages that are hangover free
Cigarettes that still taste great but don't cause cancer
Hallucinogenic/Psychoactive drugs that cause no unwanted long-term side effect, so are safe for recreational use.

What is the most badass technology not developed by humans?
1. The technology that built the Great Pyramid in a single night.
2. The technology that cut huge stones into perfectly fitting geometric puzzle walls.
3. The technology that floated the Great Big Heads to their final location on Easter Island.
4. The technology that brought the aliens to Earth.

I've never understood the practicality of light sabers. If you had the technology to produce beams of light capable of cutting through anything, you'd think you would have some kind of gun or projectile.Vogon wrote: Light Sabers
It always seemed silly that Star Wars fighters were thousands of years in the future and still swinging at each other like medieval knights.

If it wasn't developed by humans, then who developed this badass technology?
It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.
