Of course, many Muslim protesters (actual and potential) wouldn't think twice about burning US flags, effigies of the U.S. president, etc. Nor would they stay themselves from torching symbols from any religion other than theirs.
I am an equal rights type. Everyone has the right to be gravely offended by someone else dissing their views.
Maybe we should torch a few creationist faith schools. I find them offensive.

Can we get back to the serious business of burning holy books?

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

I also want to revive an old suggestion of mine about the virtual destruction of virtual Qurans. Deleting a PDF is much more environmentally friendly than burning a book.

I'm going to burn copies of the Entente Cordiale this afternoon. All protests should henceforth involve setting fire to bits of paper.

What if we make Korans, Bibles, Books of Mormon and so forth out of Mesquite paper so that they can also be used to make tasty BBQ!!!klr wrote:I also want to revive an old suggestion of mine about the virtual destruction of virtual Qurans. You could make copies out of rice paper and eat 'em. Or feed em to pigs.

Presumably if one was to make a fake holy book, you know, out of a bit of card (with the relevant title on the cover) and some bits of newspaper for the middle, they'd STILL get upset if you burnt it.
Sounds like a facebook campaign to me. Burn Fake Holy Book Day. Who could possibly be offended?
