It's a strange thing, asking politely. As kids, we're indoctrinated to believe we can get our every way as long as we ask politely, and that indoctrination lasts into adulthood, so when we're confronted with someone asking us politly to curb our personal freedom to accomodate their sensitivities, we somehow feel guilty about denying an unreasonable request.
