I know, I corrected my post a while ago.ksen wrote:Er, I didn't say "the Hunter-Seeker hasn't been used." I said the Hunter-Seeker wasn't used on Night 1.heyzeus wrote:I'm not sure what you mean by "the hunter-seeker hasn't been used."
I'll go find the posts:
Night 1 actions: Mephistopheles killed by reizling using a poisoned sword and reizling killed by Mephistopheles' chrysknife. No mention of a Hunter-Seeekr method of killing. And now we know AshtonBlack was recruited that night.
Night 2 actions: virphen killed by poisoned Hunter-Seeker needle and AshtonBlack killed by sword.
Night 3 actions: CookieJon killed by poisoned Hunter-Seeker needle and Ghatanoatha killed by sword.
Night 4 actions: 95Theses killed by poisoned Hunter-Seeker needle and DP killed by sword.
That says to me that the Hunter-Seeker is the scum kill method. So it is logical to think that when scum kill they cannot recruit. If they could do both the game would be terribly lopsided toward scum and it would be over already with a scum victory.

From the OP of the Peanut Gallery thread:heyzeus wrote:oblivion, can you confirm that posting PMs is against the rules?
In other words, no posting/quoting PMs that I sent to players.- No private communication among players unless specified in the role PMs or via an update PM from me.

So no private communication and no quoting of the role PMs. By role PMs, you mean the ones where you handed out the roles, correct? So posting the communication between MAT and noncredo should be fine.

You can omit the PMs where you mention which one of you has the investigative role if you would like.

Okay but be quick. This reluctance to post the PMs isn't looking good for you. I know it might just be an honest misunderstanding of the rules but you also might be stalling.
Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
It looks like Evil Spock was the scum recruiter. If it's working in this game like it has in others then scum can decide to either recruit, using Evil Spock up until yesterday, or kill. With Evil Spock gone I'm willing to say that scum has lost its recruiting ability. And since every night except the one night we know there was a recruit has had a person killed with a Hunter-Seeker then it should be safe to say that Harkonnen's haven't recruited anyone else.heyzeus wrote:I know, I corrected my post a while ago.As for the Hunter-Seeker, are you certain that the Hunter-Seeker is the recruiter? Evil Spock was also a recruiter and she was killed on Day 4. They either have two recruiters or the Hunter-Seeker isn't one.
Harkonnens tried to kill Paul Atreides with a Hunter-Seeker.

Oh, I see what you're getting at. The first night they chose to recruit, which is why there was no Harkkonen kill that night. All other nights they have chosen to kill.

er, wait, that isn't what you're saying. I don't understand what you're saying. The person who tried to kill Paul was an independent agent.

Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
What was that last line about then? The serial killer was the one who tried to kill Paul.
Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
Yes, in this game an indie was trying to kill Paul.heyzeus wrote:er, wait, that isn't what you're saying. I don't understand what you're saying. The person who tried to kill Paul was an independent agent.
However in the book the Harkonnens used Hunter-Seekers as assassination tools.
Re: Dune 2.0 Game Thread
It was to show that Hunter-Seekers are a Harkonnen preferred kill method. And since the Harkonnen's are the scum team it stands to reason that the Hunter-Seeker is their kill method.heyzeus wrote:What was that last line about then? The serial killer was the one who tried to kill Paul.

Right, here's the first PM:
I'm {deleted character name and relationship}. Apparently I can PM you, and you me, or so I'm told. I don't know if you have any special powers or not, but apparently I take the seer's place if they are killed or whatever. So, any ideas about the game so far?
And the reply:
Hi {deleted character reference}...I guess {deleted relationship information} are all the rage on Dune. My lynch votes count as 2 votes, so I guess that could come in handy. I was planning on keeping a low profile for now, just wait and see who makes what moves.
I'm working on the next one...
