The Michael Collins is Rush (my hometown's) trainstation in county Dublin.
Most of
Some Mother's Son is filmed around Rush and neighbouring villages.

Father Ted was filmed around here. In fact, years ago some girls were called out of my class and asked if they wanted to be in a TV programme, little did they know at the time it would be one of the greatest comedies of all time. The town hall used in the disco episode where the only music the DJ has is
Ghost Town by The Specials is our town hall.
Comedian Jason Byrne lives in the next town over, he also happens to be my cousin.
The mansion I can see from my bedroom window in the field next to me of which is now only the ruins of the side entrance still stand...

Jules Verne's Rocket to the Moon(1967).
Of course, it was still standing then.
