I'm wild just like a rock, a stone, a tree
And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain
And I fly, just like a bird up in the sky
And I'll surely die, just like a flower plucked
And dragged away and thrown away
And then one day it turns to clay
It blows away, it finds a ray, it finds its way
And there it lays until the rain and sun
Then I breathe, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I grow, just like a baby breastfeeding
And it's beautiful, that's life

And I'm free, just like the wind the breeze that blows
And I flow, just like a brook, a stream, the rain

Don't ever tell anybody you know someone who didn't got to the Towers that day, they might track him down and demand to know who told him not to go in.Pluto2 wrote:We watched it live at school, a relative worked in one of the towers and we didnt know what had happened to him for a few days. Nearing the end of the decade and still no rapture in sight. Go figure

It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

I am endlessly impressed by the "truthers" who claim that nobody died that day, they're all off living well in a secret location on the taxpayer's dime. I can't imagine what their families think about that. "Daddy isn't dead, he's drinking beer on the beach at Cabo. He just wants you think he's dead because TPTB wanted a war over crude oil."Pluto2 wrote:It was his day off.But dont worry I wont ever tell the nuts he didnt go in, the way they would twist that.

Let's see. 9/11, 8 years of Bush Jr., Economic recession.
For me personally, getting a new Job, buying my first house (I always rented before), travel a lot, meeting up with like minded people.
So on the grand scheme of things it was all pretty bad, on the personal level it was pretty good.

From where I sat watching it in Ireland it was amazing.Pluto2 wrote:It wasnt amazing it was terrifying.De-fucken=vogewweee wrote:9/11 was amazing. I think it's the only thing in my life that people 1,000 years from now will know about.
You see, we had thirty years to get used to being terrified and we got to almost enjoying the excitement of big explosions.
That's not to take away from the horror of that day, but I was too far away to be scared.

It was scary. I remember exactly where I was when I realised what was happening, and the feeling of cold dread and horror.

An honest question - why did you feel cold dread and horror when you lived thousands of miles away from the events?Bella Fortuna wrote:It was scary. I remember exactly where I was when I realised what was happening, and the feeling of cold dread and horror.
I'm really curious about this because it's something I hear many Americans say.

That's easy. The attacks happened in two places, and a plane went down in a third. So where was the next place to get it?De-fucken=vogewweee wrote:An honest question - why did you feel cold dread and horror when you lived thousands of miles away from the events?Bella Fortuna wrote:It was scary. Re: Well that's decade #1 more or less over with
I remember being at a client fixing a problem when I heard about a plane crashing into the WTC. So we discussed a little on how that is possible and I thought let's see if there are any pictures on CNN or something. I thought it was something like a small Piper airplane or a Cessna, but that soon changed when I saw the hole in the building. Then a while later we heard a second plane had hit, then we took real notice. I left the client early and went to my parents place to watch it on TV as they were the closest. One of my cousins worked in the WTC, but not in the towers. He got away unharmed.

I got a call from the NROTC guys, asking me about Pearl Harbor about an hour after the attack.

I also think it is because relatively speaking, the US doesn't have much experience with terrorism on domestic soil. It was a stark contrast with the way London responded to it's bombing in 2005.Gawdzilla wrote:That's easy. The attacks happened in two places, and a plane went down in a third. We'd had Oklahoma City just a few years earlier, we weren't cherry. I pointed out several times that without Tim McVeigh people would probably be saying "Americans don't do that kind of thing."leo-rcc wrote:I also think it is because relatively speaking, the US doesn't have much experience with terrorism on domestic soil.
