Just finished Netherland by Joseph O'Neill. Good, light contemporary novel about 911, relationships, and cricket. Mostly cricket.

HMS Surprise by Patrick O'Brian. What that chap didn't know about a foretops'l probably isn't worth knowing. Aubrey and Maturin, surely two of the greatest characters in fiction. 20 books in the series, 17 to go. Woot.
