"My uncle was at MIT" Trump confused. What to do with woke stuff and keep some of the...useful stuff.
Donald sends Harvard letter making stupid demands.

Donald now says it was sent by accident.

Donald blames Harvard for reacting to the letter he sent.

Accidentally sending Harvard that letter is like signalgate; like sending an innocent man to El Salvador due to an admin error; like calculating tarriffs by trade deficit: we are allowing ourselves to be terrorized by utter buffoons.

Guy in Winnipeg keeping track of 2025
As of the close of the day on April 18, my positive/negative score on the Trump administration stands at -497.
150. Steve Bannon: “We're working on 5 or 6 different alternatives for how Trump could run again and be president…I continue to say that on the afternoon of January 20th, 2029, Donald Trump is going to be president for his third term.”

151. Powell: “The level of tariff increases announced so far is significantly larger than anticipated, and the same is likely to be true of the economic effects which will include higher inflation and slower growth.”

152. Via Bluesky: Deputy Assistant to the President and “Counterterrorism Czar” Sebastian Gorka says anyone advocating for due process for Kilmar Abrego Garcia could be viewed as “aiding and abetting a terrorist” and be federally charged. (h/t Philip Germain)

They are STILL leaping to the defense of that foreign invader, eh?

Illegal immigrants, when deported, got the process they are due. Why would they try to present it any other way, unless they want Biden's 'great replacement' efforts to succeed?

did anyone in media, or the democrat side, have a good theory as to why so many of those pardons went back to 2014?

Or does it not matter, especially if Ukraine had a coup around then?

Image

Does anyone here have a theory as to why all those pardons were written to cover the period back to 2014?

I think Creech does, as do others who are considered 'conspiracy theorists' (whatever THAT means lol).

I don't know what the mainstream theory is on that though. It sure looks like covering up something...

Maybe if the Dolt in Chief lies loudly enough about egg prices, people will believe him.

'Trump Doubles Down Calling Egg Prices "Too Low" as Costs Soar to Record Highs'
In the days leading up to Easter, President Donald Trump has repeatedly—and falsely—claimed that egg prices have plummeted to the point of being “too low,” baselessly citing steep double-digit declines—even as Americans face record-high prices at the grocery store.

“The egg prices are down 87 percent, but nobody talks about that,” the President said on Friday. “You can have all the eggs you want, we have too many eggs, in fact, if anything the prices are getting too low.”

...

Egg prices, Newsweek reported on Wednesday, “continued to climb despite recent efforts by the Trump administration to combat the shortage brought about by the ongoing bird flu with imports of Turkish eggs. The CPI egg index jumped by 5.9 percent from February and was up 60.4 percent compared to March 2024, and the average price for a dozen grade A large eggs climbed 5.6 percent to a record $6.23.”

Moe Davis, the well-known retired U.S. Air Force colonel, attorney, and former administrative law judge, posted to social media a federal government chart of egg prices.

“According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics,” Davis wrote, “the price of a dozen eggs in March was $6.23, the highest price ever recorded and 26% higher than in January when Trump took office. Of course if Trump says egg prices are down then the MAGA cult is obliged to say egg prices are down.”

No Fauci-fans left?

That candle is still available on Etsy, and you can have 'jewels' added for an extra 8 bucks or so...

But they were SO firmly behind him...maybe accepting a pardon for a sizeable chunk of his professional career, lowered his esteem a bit, in the eyes of...well...anyone with eyes lol

I understand why Biden issued that pardon, and I think you do as well. Trump has openly talked about using the criminal justice system as a tool for his personal vendettas. He's already actively weaponized his presidential authority to attack law firms he has grudges against.

He's installed a US Attorney General who doesn't respect her own office enough to demonstrate even a pretence of independence from the White House. She's ready to do his bidding regardless of whether it has anything to do with legitimate prosecution or not. Given his demonstrated willingness to use his power as president to stomp on those he believes to be his enemies, it's not as if it's unlikely he'll be carrying out 'vengeance and retribution' using his unwarranted control over the legal arm of the government. He had said that was his plan before he was elected. He wasn't shy about saying he believed he would be justified in going after people.

Fauci has been a target for MAGA for years now. I'm sure that he's still getting death threats from brave patriots. You yourself have shown animosity toward him. Biden was doing what he could to shield somebody who worked for decades to save American lives from an openly vindictive authoritarian. I think Fauci has no illusions regarding Trump's willingness to weaponize the presidency either.

Asinine comments don't change the facts. Anyone with eyes can see Trump wants to emulate rotten dictators like his buddy Presidente Bukele.

An excellent article from one of my favourite Melbourne Age journalists, questioning the US alliance in the context of current American politics. He pulls no punches on Trump!
Yes, the US isn't a reliable ally any more, to the extent that it ever was.

Say that despite the efforts of the Trumpists, a Democratic president is elected in a few years. That by no means ensures that in another four years some absurd goon like JD Vance or Don Jr. doesn't take back the White House and carry on the MAGA project of sucking up to dictators and scorning long-time allies. When a country shits the bed by choosing a wilfully ignorant, authoritarian, compulsively dishonest grifter and narcissist megalomaniac as its leader (for a second time no less) it's time to reconsider the nature of connections with that country.
I think we've generally never been that reliable an ally - our failure to join the League of Nations after the first World War and the disastrous Smoot-Hawley tariffs we enacted during the Depression are good examples of the isolationist strain that runs through our politics. Throw in the periodic zenophobia and infatuations with demagogues like Father Coughlin, Joseph McCarthy, George Wallace, and Pat Buchanan, and the Trump phenomenon is not that surprising. The problem is that this time, we're a house of cards, saddled with debt and looming health and financial crises, while trying to balance competing, expensive international commitments. It's been coming for a long time.

So naturally, we reelect an incompetent President, backed by a cabal of wealthy utopian crackpots intent on tearing it all down. Who knows how this will end up. :fp:

A target of MAGA, since before MAGA started? Trump came into politics in 2015 or 16. What was Fauci up to before that, which would require protection?

Asinine comments or not, you still haven't said what activities are being covered by a pardon going back well before Trump made his first bid for the presidency.

Maybe it was an oversight. I'm guessing that the particular crimes or alleged crimes aren't of interest to you, since the pardon was about Trump being a danger, not Fauci doing things.

I like Creech's courage in theorizing better because of that. With you, there are no predictions which could say whether you were correct or not, but with him, he says things which could very easily be proven wrong. We'll see. It looks like when he was banned from twitter, it was unfounded (since he is back now) and it could be that he flicked a nerve with his coverage of the biological research aspect of politics.

Fauci committed crimes against humanity, and the Biden regime preemptively pardoned him.

Why? Because they are also in on it.

Why do you think Hunter and Fauci’s pardons both start in 2014?

Because Soros and the Dems are running the offshore bioweapon development network.

2014 is when Obama’s CIA took control of Ukraine via proxy after the maidan coup. 2014 is when Obama offshored “gain of function” research to places like Ukraine. 2014 is when Hunter Biden’s biolab company, Metabiota, got its first USAID contracts to study bat coronaviruses in Ukraine.

Fauci and Hunter’s pardons are both about the same thing. It’s about bioweapon development. It’s about Covid. It’s about crimes against humanity.

This is ultimately where everything is headed. We will eventually have to cross this bridge.

Image
He at least connects it to real historic activity connected to Fauci and his work.

Was he doing gain of function research when it was illegal for him to do so? I know he told Rand that he wasn't, but he wasn't all that convincing about it.

The fact that there's no evidence to suggest he was or did doesn't mean that he wasn't or didn't, right?
