When people look to the actual science and find that the spiel looks on its face remarkably like a snake oil promotion (remember how you kept harping on about hydroxychloroquine? no?) you really have nothing to offer other than butthurt masked by sneering.![]()

Help out an ignorant African here: Why is it called Fox News when they have no news, only opinions?

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
The cable program is that. Many cities have a local Fox affiliate that broadcasts. People get the local news and weather. And local sports. They have good coverage of college games. A lot of crime is reported. It then broadcasts Fox shows most of the night. The comedies and 45 minute dramas. They capture over half the audience in each city for those viewers with no cable or satellite connection. Most of rural America.
I can watch that local broadcast on my Hulu streaming. We only for sports.

I'll stick to dissenter to answer you seriously, but thank you very much for showing that you too, don't know what they are talking about.
Though you do seem sure they were right, or I was wrong.
Maybe if you imagine real hard, you'll know why I choose to not engage with defending their ideas. I'll give you a hint:
Some idiots, will 'show their hand', as it were, by fully opposing whatever they have said, without knowing what it was.
Knowing that, if said idiot does go look at what they've said, they'll be doing so only to refute some idea their bias has already shown them to carry.
So yeah, so far I know lots of people who are fully opposed to their ideas, no matter WHAT they are.
On this topic, I know all I need to about your (and a few others') perspective. Thanks for that.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Lets see. I have a bias against conspiracy theories and the theorists ideas. They are usually wrong. But mainly, it's not my problem. If it's a real conspiracy, the Woodward and Bernsteins will sort it out. It does not help me in any way to get stuck on conspiracies.
Re: The Coronavirus Thread
I already understand your position. No need to listen to scientists about their ideas. Better to dismiss them because the science is settled.
I guess with science being 'settled', there isn't any need to do more. Good thing a lot of folks who think so will be retiring soon.
I'll leave you the floor, Tero. Clearly, of all the people who haven't listened to those scientists/researchers, you were the only one to address something they talked about.
Probably either you, or them, is wrong. I'm going to go with the people using their right name, and open to discussion.

I do science all the time. Arm chair science. I don't have a lab anymore. For the layman, science is too complex. It has number results. Not yes or no answers.

Apparently the UK is outraged that the NZ and Aussie international rugby league teams have withdrawn from the world cup competition to be held in the UK in October.
UK confirmed infections have reached a new record high today.

Yeah, hopefully all the loud rah-rah-rahing from UK internet denizens will die down a bit now after brexit and the horrible handling of covid...oh yeah, and Johnson

Cases now same level as May in US. Looks like it will do another hump like May. Hopefully with schools starting vacation travel will drop off.

I visited several states this summer and Texas had the most people wearing masks. You know you're screwed when Texans are doing more to protect themselves from covid than you.
