Sure. British Columbia hit 46.1C (115F) on Sunday with Portland reaching 44.4C (112F), while Seattle had temperatures over 100F for three days in a row. Air temperatures over 45C are considered incompatible with human life btw.

9.4°C here at 9:10am. Global cooling, people. I'm doing research on how to cope with it.

Lytton, BC hit 49.7C today. They've set records four days in a row.

It is due to craziness of the Jet Stream being affected by us lovely people.

You can play around with this. Notice how far north the jet stream is in Canada and how fas south it is in Europe which explains the bloody awful summer weather we are having.

Now Lytton is evacuated, 250 people flee as town burns in a wildfire.

Completely differently regulations will have to be brought in for residential buildings in prone wild fire areas.

It is a serious issue here in Oz. People have been permitted to build homes right in the middle of eucalyptus forests. Romantic as anything on nice day, but hell on Earth when a bushfire rolls through. Even in winter it is a recipe for disaster - recently, a severe storm swept through the hills around Melbourne, with dozens of homes crushed by towering eucalypts, and thousands without power for weeks.

You have to be practical. I stayed in a fancy hotel in Queensland's tropical forest. It looked great and romantic but a fire risk it was. It was owned by a Swiss family who had a very laid-back attitude to the whole place.

If it was in the rainforest it would have a very low risk of fire. At least traditionally. The last fire season in southern Queensland and NSW saw fire getting into the rainforests. I guess we'll see more of that from now on with climate change.

They're spraying the bridges in Seattle and Vancouver to stop the steal expanding.
