Depends which conspiracy theory he's peddling today.
Sent from my penis using wankertalk.
"The Western world is fucking awesome because of mostly white men" - DaveDodo007.
"Socialized medicine is just exactly as morally defensible as gassing and cooking Jews" - Seth. Yes, he really did say that..

They will never admit it, but the media and the left turned a reasonable hypothesis into a conspiracy theory almost overnight. In truth, there were some on the right advancing hysterical theories of a “bio-weapon,” but few serious writers ever posited the notion that the coronavirus was a deliberate attack.

But turning the theory into a “conspiracy theory” and all the baggage that term brings to the discussion was done because it was a useful political club to discredit Donald Trump and his supporters. Admittedly, the lab-leak theory is based on a lot of circumstantial evidence. But so is the animal-to-human theory of transmission. The key to understanding the media’s hysterical pushback against the lab-leak theory is in the burning desire to see Donald Trump — and his supporters — dismissed as kooks and crazies.
Please provide an example of it being treated like a conspiracy theory. I certainly haven't seen that. And of course, I doubt you have either.
Why?

They are super easy to find. I went and got you a nice juicy one in very few minutes...

How about the Lancet...

We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin. Scientists from multiple countries have published and analysed genomes of the causative agent, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2),1 and they overwhelmingly conclude that this coronavirus originated in wildlife
What is 'Lancet' anyway? Is it like Politico, Fox News or CNN?

The two hypotheses that the virus escaped the Wuhan lab and that the virus has a natural origin do not contradict each other.

Be complicit if you want, but a complicity theorist is just as stupid as a conspiracy theorist.
What's a complicity theorist, other than your latest rightwing buzz word?
It's from a tweet naturally. Of course, the clever fellow who dreamed this up didn't appear to know the term complicity theory is already in use.

...

So when our member from Yellowknife uses the term, he is ignorantly parroting some twat too ignorant to use Google. :hehe:
I mentioned that earlier this month. But you must remember, people here are at least as 'untrustworthy' as mainstream news sources if not worse. Such dubious information is dismissed out of hand, if it's even read by somebody who brags about not reading posts he thinks he will find disagreeable (aka he knows in advance that they are 'untrustworthy').

From official figures to no figures in under 24 hours.

Anyway, "official figures" have plummeted before. On January 7 there were 841,953 new cases. By February 15 there were just 268,238. Come April 28 they went up to an all time high of 892,326. Latest figure I can find is May 22 with 582,492. Which way will it be trending, master, and what evidence can you tender in support of your prediction?

He spends too much time poisoning the well. It's unnecessary. The points raised, if true, are good enough.

1. The Wuhan lab was performing gain of function research

2. The same lab had identified the closest known strain to the current pandemic strain prior to starting its gain of function research

3. It's possible therefore that the pandemic strain is the earlier discovered one which had been manipulated in the Wuhan lab
If you start agreeing with me, that ought to be a red flag.

I've heard this same stuff for quite awhile, but don't know how to 'vet' it well enough. The sources are dismissed by modern censorship, which uses algorythmic opprobrium to manipulate opinions about disfavourable characters.
Well, they claim to be censored, but here they are on a popular TV show, so it's hard to entirely buy that they are being shutout. They have 65 episodes of their stream after all, and haven't been shutdown by their web service provider.

I enjoyed the latest episode. It was interesting to hear them explain their thinking, but I don't think they are "steelmanning" what they call the consensus on the lab leak hypothesis. As Jim has pointed out, there is ongoing research on the origin of the virus that suggests a natural evolution of the current virus, as well as Furin cleavage sites being common in coronaviruses, which they don't address.

I'm not too concerned by this, since they emphasize that the lab leak is a hypothesis, as opposed to a theory, so their call for investigation makes sense, especially as Sean points out, there is a lab researching coronavirus right there in Wuhan.
Just noticed that I was kind of assuming that Joe had been one of those people, too early dismissing the lab leak hypothesis (or agreeing with such)

Glad to see I was wrong.

I generally consider people who don't read post they disagree with to be a bit cognitively handicapped. After all, what's the old bumper sticker saying, "You're mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open."

I would say memory, but OK.

Latest summary of that podcast, by the way, seems to be that this is an indoor virus, and we should be encouraging as much outside stuff as we can. (contrary to a lot of approaches)

Official figures here but globally we dont have a clue. I dont make predictions and just reporting what I read. Official figures are down by 40% compared to last week. The number of vaccinations is over a million and approaching the two million a week target. This has had far more effect than all the lockdowns and mask wearing.
I just dont understand the Ozland government is not moving on vaccination faster or is this a state thing again?
