We are being compelled to wearing face masks (non-medical) when travelling on public transport. Now this a complete farce. Home-made masks only under certain circumstance 20% efficient and most of the time totally inefficient and can increase the risk.
It is weird how all the governments are jumping on the bandwagon of reducing regulating measures. It was a few months going take at least two years now it down to months and not a vaccine in sight.
Our hot spots are care homes which are full of mostly sick people and one immigration camp which is not overcrowded by any stretch of the imagination but the residents are very mobile.
The community masks won't protect the person wearing it, but reduce the amount of droplets and aerosol that they emit.
Most masks have that function but 20% efficient at most? Not worth putting them on.

A 20% reduction in risk is significant when scaled across the population.

You know, you might have made a good point in there, but when you plug in this kind of idiocy, it makes me think you are easily led, and look to deliberately misinterpret everything Trump says, just like CNN tells people to.

It reminds me that you would have spoken out against wearing masks, as per the WHO (depending on which week you listened to them)

Where did I do this?
You are lying.
What did you mean by the bit in red?

That's the idiocy I refer to, which made me think you are easily led.

It's idiocy if rainbow says it, but if anyone calls Trump an idiot for saying it you accuse them of hating on him. Double-standards much.

I know what he said, and to who - that's the difference here.

Lots of people think he said something else, or said it to different people.

Play a game, Brian Peacock. Listen directly and live, to one of Trumps speeches, then, write quickly a story making him seem as bad as possible. Use quote-mining, and any other underhanded tactics you can use.

Then see which 'news' agencies are closest to your deliberate misunderstanding/bullshit piece.

It's instructive to hear, again and again, people repeat lies they could easily check for themselves.

Thhe whole population does not travel on public transport. That is also the maximum possible. Nothing has been proven these all guestimates. No scientific tests can be done either as these are all home made masks. It is a total farce just keeping up the paranoia.

Put on a mask, hold your hand before your face, then speak and cough. Do the same without a mask. The difference is obvious

You were the one who mentioned the 20%. We were talking about people on buses, so that's the population we're referring to. Even so, those people get on and off the buses, probably at least two: they go places, like work, or shops, or home, so a 20% reduction in risk for people in that situation does have wider effects in public health terms.

In the case of the German factories, it's foreign workers living in packed collective housing. Question: Is this also the case in the US and Australia? So is the problem the work place (the factories themselves) or the inhumane practices of how cheap foreign workers are treated in these places?
I think it's the factories, where the workers are unavoidably close together...

Vitamin D/Inlammation:

Previous observational studies have reported an association between low levels of vitamin D and susceptibility to acute respiratory tract infections. Vitamin D modulates the response of white blood cells, preventing them from releasing too many inflammatory cytokines. The COVID-19 virus is known to cause an excess of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
