Right-wing extremism in the United States appears to be growing. The number of terrorist attacks by far-right perpetrators rose over the past decade, more than quadrupling between 2016 and 2017. The recent pipe bombs and the October 27, 2018, synagogue attack in Pittsburgh are symptomatic of this trend. U.S. federal and local agencies need to quickly double down to counter this threat. There has also been a rise in far-right attacks in Europe, jumping 43 percent between 2016 and 2017.

Do you look at numbers for black nationalists as well? Brown?
Or are you only racist against 'whites'?
Would racial groups of other colours even warrant a mention? Or is it best if no-one examines your racist tendencies too closely?
Re: Trump and ethnic cleansing
No mention of Trump and the adminstrations involvement in ethnic cleansing abroad?

Those aren't really Trump specific. That's just US foreign policy.

Re: Trump and ethnic cleansing
How does American ethnic cleansing compare to other countries' ethnic cleansing?
How do they measure up against Isreal?
How about Saudi Arabia?

Re: Trump and ethnic cleansing
You seem stuck on shit-supremacists. Their openness doesn't support your argument regarding a rise in racism. The number of hate crimes looks relatively fixed to me, it has moved between a fairly small range through time. Like I said, there were years without Trump that had more hate crimes, and they have been both lower and higher just recently. Attitudes, have not. They have consistently moved towards less racism.
https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10 ... 7618813087Abstract
Using 4.4 million tests of implicit and explicit attitudes measured continuously from an Internet population of U.S. respondents over 13 years, we conducted the first comparative analysis using time-series models to examine patterns of long-term change in six social-group attitudes: sexual orientation, race, skin tone, age, disability, and body weight. Even within just a decade, all explicit responses showed change toward attitude neutrality. Parallel implicit responses also showed change toward neutrality for sexual orientation, race, and skin-tone attitudes but revealed stability over time for age and disability attitudes and change away from neutrality for body-weight attitudes. These data provide previously unavailable evidence for long-term implicit attitude change and stability across multiple social groups; the data can be used to generate and test theoretical predictions as well as construct forecasts of future attitudes.

I distrust 'hate crime stats' in large part because of those who work with them. I wonder if the incidence/prosecution of fakes would make useful data.

I'm not going to exclude data about white-supremacists from a discussion about racism. That would be like excluding cheese from a discussion about dairy.Sean Hayden wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2020 6:51 pmYou seem stuck on shit-supremacists. I've acknowledged that racism is down as compared to the 1950s. A society's attitudes regarding racism tend to hit local peaks and troughs, however, and we are clearly in a local peak at the moment.
And even if we accept that racism is on the decline over longer timescales, the problem as I see it is that white, conservative, Christian America is getting more extreme and tribal as they move toward losing their majority status. Hence the rise of Trumpism and white nationalist activity after electing our first Kenyan president.

I didn't ask you to exclude shit-supremacists, I just pointed out that it doesn't necessarily support an argument for racism being on the rise.

How many of these fake hate crimes were actually reported by law enforcement to the FBI UCR program?Cunt wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2020 6:59 pmI distrust 'hate crime stats' in large part because of those who work with them. I wonder if the incidence/prosecution of fakes would make useful data.

Re: Trump and ethnic cleansing
Actually, this is Trump specific:
Trump vetoes measure to end US involvement in Yemen war

So yes, in addition to his efforts to ethnically cleanse his own nation, he has also greenlit genocide abroad.
