Hermit wrote:Yes, conservatives and the far right have always existed throughout history. That does not make the alt right a myth. Richard Spencer claims to have created the term. He is wrong, of course, perhaps out of ignorance, but more likely because he is a rabid right winger, and right wingers have no objection to lying as long as the lies are of their own creation. Alt-right was a well known usenet channel for years before the world wide web came into existence.
Given the type of characters that inhabited that channel, and comparing the views of today's right wingers, I regard "alt-right" as a suitable and accurate label to slap on them, and yes, I regard you as a member. There is no formal, monolithic ideology. Rather, alt-righters pick from a smorgasbord of views, the predominant feature of which is hate. That is why nationalism, racism and misogyny predominate.
Where you believe that the Alt..Right exists seems to be just the part of the 4chan message board and /pol/ in particular. Even that has its own communism/socialism community. When you see me express such views as 'Abos aren't human', 'abortion should be legal (it shouldn't be because it is murder) because it keeps the nigger population down', 'women shouldn't have the vote because they are emotional children.' then include me in the Alt..Right otherwise fuck you. Conservatism isn't inhumane (see Marxism for that) it is just conservatives get a bad rep because of pragmatism and reality. Your magic money tree and unlimited resources doesn't exist and being a bunch of idealists wont change that. Plus the fact that you are a bunch of puritans, joymops and self righteous wankers doesn't help you in anyway at all.

Hermit wrote:No. It is, and always was obvious that any moron can post on twitter, facebook, youtube or whatever. Even creating a bespoke web-site on which you can say and write whatever crap you like is a doddle. You just hire a designer to create one for you. They're easy to get and cheap.
Weaponised autism cannot be brought and having graphic artists produce meme's to do an end around the MSM (for free, grassroots) can never be undervalued.
Hermit wrote:What did surprise the liberals, is that so many people tuned into the alt-right channels and liked what they heard, read and saw. The liberals of which we speak here are capitalists who have tried to give capitalism a humane mask. Once upon a time they actually made an effort. Now they ignore the people's problems, preferring to chat with Golman Sachs, et al., and deregulating the financial market in order to make it easier for the high rollers to make even more money than ever before, never mind the cost to the commoners. They were surprised because they succeeded to pull the wool over their eyes ever since Bill Clinton's presidency, and thought they could continue doing so forever. When the people gave them the "fuck you, we just found someone who promised to make us great again", they went into shock mode. Though I regard Hillary Clinton as the lesser of two evils, I can't say I sympathise with her. Her seeming concern for the underdogs was a charade.
Nah what happened was Bush wouldn't have got NAFTA through Congress without Bill Clinton's help. The die was cast, the people didn't matter anymore as the elite establishment could just import more poor people to be dependent on them and continue their elites rule from now on. Using identity politics to divide and conquer would become a double edge sword, who would have thunked it.
DaveDodo007 wrote:the left and liberals are the establishment now so conservatives have become the counter culture
Hermit wrote:The left has always been sidelined by the reactionary conservatives and the conservative liberal capitalists, but yes, there is more than an element of truth in the rest of that sentence.
More like the left have always been hoodwinked by their global corporalist masters, that is the trouble with collectivism, there will always be authoritarians willing to lead you.
We should be MOST skeptical of ideas we like because we are sufficiently skeptical of ideas that we don't like. Penn Jillette.
