The only problem with that is range.

A properly sighted MP5 will do that at about 250 meters if you can see that far. The 416 will do it to about 700. Less if suppressed, more with the 19" barrel. Turn up the scope, take a rest, and manage the trigger...
But those ranges are a different realm, and sniping produces much less psychological impact on Zed than it does on a cadre of humans. So unless there's some tactical reason to regard a Walker @ 250+ yards as a threat, why waste the ammo?

I'd imagine I'd reach for the MP5 on most ZomOps, with 300 rounds as minimal loadout, maybe double that on a given job.

Fuck, I hate that stupid movie. Anybody who gets killed with a bolt-gun deserves it and needed to be removed from the gene pool for intolerable stupidity.

Do you think I'd let someone carrying that rig within 25 feet of me? Fuck no. At the very least I'd keep backing away from him.

Another one of those idiot movies that would be over in the first five minutes if any of the Joe Average citizens had been armed and just blown a couple of holes in that prick. That stupid plot mechanism (which I realize was a comment on the sheeple of society) just totally destroyed any willing suspension of disbelief I might have had...that and the shotgun silencer.

I have hacked many a scrub pine with a brush hook back in my line-cutting days. Kids these days don't know how easy they got it. Just run a traverse line through the clear bits, punch a button and BINGO, you got angle and distance to your point. Try that with a 200 foot chain, a 30 second transit and a book of trig functions.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

No shit! I've still got my Zeiss TH43 and all the gear. Sold my Pentax some years ago, but I could still run a line and turn a corner, although I don't have a clue about trig functions and depend on my HP calculator.

God, how I love precision optical instruments! I used to use it for ELR rangefinding before I got my Leica Vector 21s.

Can't bear to get rid of it. Probably cost $25,000 when it was new, worth about $700 at best today. Still looks brand new though.

If wanting silence, VSS "Vintorez" rifle is excellent choice. Unsuppressed, is difficult to imagine reasons for not picking one of many Kalashnikov variants! Admittedly, maybe is bias? :{D
