Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington filed a complaint Friday with the Office of Congressional Ethics against Neugebauer “for conduct that reflects discreditably upon the House,” according to a news release from the organization.
“Rep. Neugebauer’s mistreatment of a federal employee who was doing her job is disgraceful,” Melanie Sloan, the group’s executive director, said in a news release. “The blame for the government shutdown and the resulting closure of the memorials lies squarely on the shoulders of lawmakers like Rep. Neugebauer who refuse to fund our government.”
The group claims Neugebauer’s conduct violates House Rule 23, which requires all members of the House conduct themselves “at all times in a manner that reflects creditably on the House.”
“By publicly assailing a federal employee who was acting in accordance with the will of the House and attempting to coerce the ranger to allow access to the memorial — despite the fact that federal law requires its closure — Rep. Neugebauer abused his position,” the release states.

To paraphrase slightly, all that is required for the triumph of evil is that good men (or women) do nothing. The Park Service closed the memorial after the partial government shutdown this week, keeping veterans and others out of the site.
“How do you look at them and say ... deny them access. I don’t get that,” Neugebauer asks the ranger in the video.
The ranger responds: “It’s difficult.”
“Well, it should be,” Neugebauer responds. “Park Service should be ashamed of themselves.”
“I’m not ashamed,” the ranger says.
“Well, you should be,” Neugebauer responds.
"I vas chust followink orders" as an excuse for illegal actions went out at Nuremberg.
All anybody has to do to get past the barriers is say the magic words: "I'm here to symbolically through occupation express my First Amendment-protected outrage at the closure of public lands as I petition my government for redress of this grievance while freely assembling with my fellow citizens on this "quintessential" public forum as it has been so declared by the Supreme Court, so get the FUCK out of my way you disloyal jackbooted thug."
That's it. Say something even faintly like that and they CANNOT inhibit you or throw you out because your right to protest outweighs their suspended authority to keep you out...of ANY National Park...but particularly the National Mall.
Fuck the jackboots who obey Obama and not their oath of office and the Constitution. They need to be berated. They need to be FIRED.
Oh, and federal law does NOT require the closure of public lands in a shutdown, it merely requires federal employees to stop working. That's it.
