As this is a serious thread I omitted the "Cheese" optionFoxy13 on RD.Net wrote:IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please read the following before voting.
I chanced upon this scenario a few years ago on the internet and I'm quite interested in discussing it with others on this forum.
Imagine that you could take away all the pain in the world -- all the hunger, all the wars, all the violence, and all the poverty. Imagine that the world could become a perfect place of harmony and tranquility. Imagine that you alone could make it happen. Would you do it? The majority of people would say yes.
However, there are strings attached to making the world a perfect place. You must first torture a baby to death. The method of torture must involve the following: burning, dismembering, stabbing with knives, and beating.
Now would you do it?
Here is my response to get the ball moving.

To take action to inflict harm on someone, no matter how good or bad the outcome, has to be a morally bankrupt position. "Slippery slope" springs to mind also. Now we have killed and tortured one baby, we may as well do another if it makes the strawberry harvest taste even better this year.
So I vote a resounding "no"
PS - if god told me to do it then it is of course totally justified.....
