If I misinterpreted what you mean, fair enough. I'm still not sure how though.Robert_S wrote:It's easier for feminists to see and address problems in men's attitudes. It's harder and requires more care to do so for women. What's so fucking cowardly and dishonest there?
...and, I disagree with this:
I don't thing women or men have superior facilities to detect bullshit. Neither do I see why it would be harder to detect bullshit from a woman, or why more care should be taken. Are women made of cotton wool? None of my four sisters are. Neither is my mother or mother in law. Neither were either of my grandmothers. All successful women who never let notions of what women should and shouldn't do ever limit them. It's easier for feminists to see and address problems in men's attitudes
.And what exactly was it that got us all branded as rape promoters? Carelessness
No. It was a mendacious and opportunistic prick of a demagogue called Pee Zed Myers deliberately stirring up a controversy out of nothing for his own personal profit.
Be careless criticizing people whose goals you largely support and you can fuck up and find yourself looking like your own enemy. That's not just a feminist or A+ thing. That's life in general.
The problem with this is that it gives far too much leeway to erstwhile comrades in arms to go squirrelly, and destroy the entire "movement" through their actions.
