Whilst watching the vid, regardless of any ulterior motives/propaganda touting intended by the makers, I did feel anger towards those who ultimately make life changing decisions "for the people" but quite clearly make them to win votes (stating the obvious I know) so my frustration is that this system exists and is perpetuated. That and the whole concept of money which frankly bakes my noodle; I mean most of it is virtual- moving around computer systems as numbers on a screen. Maybe one day there will be a realisation that the world would work better without money but I believe that will never be considered- where there's money there's power.

The fiction of Neal Stephenson is apropos here. (Not to mention great fun to read.) Especially Cryptonomicon and parts of Quicksilver and The System of the World.

OP video is just scaremongering propaganda, blaming the problems on welfare.

From the video - "the hardest hit will be savers and investors" - well bloody good! It's precisely the sort of speculative profiteering that likes of moneyweek promote that cause this sort of problem in the first place.

Because when people make blanket statements to suggest that savings accounts and investors should be raided it often means that they are blind to facts such as:

1. Their own savings acct can be affected
2. Pension funds are one of the largest investors, and raise on investors hit pension funds very hard
3. Insurance funds are another large investoye, and these funds have to be invested in a specific manner to try to limit volatility exposure as much as possible. It is the policyholders that are hit by insurance company failures.

Just because someone had 100k in a bank account does not necessarily mean that they are rich. It could be a pension lump sum (to last for many years), someone's life savings, money saved to pay a debt (I.e. an endowment or interest only mortgage).

If someone has already paid all taxes due on money, and instead of spending it, they saved it for a rainy day, why is it right to take that money?
