But, the thing is, if you get rid of the carcinogens from the "exhaled" portion of the cigarette, doesn't that really fix the problem? If someone wants to drink alcohol, they know that is a carcinogen too, yet that's no reason to keep people from drinking on airplanes or in restaurants. So, if pretty much all the nicotine goes into the user's lungs, and the only thing that comes out is water vapor, then isn't the issue of ciggies solved?

You'd think so, yes, but at least one pub chain near me has banned them.
