I don't see the claim that because they were famous long ago we should pay attention to them now. Jeebus and Mohammed allegedly had Divine Revelation as the justification for paying attention to them. The Buddha had a mind-training program that worked for a lot of people to relieve their existential anxieties. I'll admit to a certain curiosity as to why you tend to single me out for animosity. To the best of my memory, I never said anything negative to or about you before your first attack. But I don't really care that much. You've shown that you have little more than C&P skills. I'm disappointed, but I no longer think I have anything to learn from you. I think St. Augustine said something about if evidence shows a story in the Old Testament to be implausible we must look to it as allegory. It's what the Catholic Church still believe. Curiously this doesn't apply to the New Testament so while they don't believe the fantastic tales of the OT as historical fact the bit with a man coming back from the dead - that happened.

Yep. Biblical literalism is a comparatively new phenomenon. Now 'can't see the wood for the trees' theology is somewhat standard in some places...
