Every western nation except the USA, has a major restriction on owning and carrying firearms, and especially hand guns. End result is that only the USA has a homicide rate more than 4 per 100,000 people per year, unless you want to count Afghanistan, Russia and a bunch of third world nations.Svartalf wrote: Violent offenders will find other implements if denied guns, while honest people will be left defenceless. So between having them, or not, I prefer the former option in spite of its unsavory aspects.
So the idea that owning guns reduces shootings is shown to be bullshit. Your logic is like saying that we can reduce graffiti by giving out spray cans of paint to all teenagers. Yeah, riiiight!
