A country can make whatever law it wants, but the point is that the US doesn't have a law criminalizing a private person's release of national security information which was not obtained by that person illegally.

Well he's hanging on in there hoping to make it through without going down in flames. He says now:

Well, as good atheists we, this forum, can still metaphorically sentence him to hang, and I sure hope that the voters, in a great wave of forgiveness, will let him get all the rest he needs to put his ideas back sunny side up.

I'm no fan of Julian Assange, but the rape allegations against him seem to me to be highly dubious.

No formal charges have been filed against him in Sweden.

No formal charges have been made, but there is a warrant for his arrest. The next step is a formal indictment, for which they apparently need the accused to appear personally. Irrespective of whether the allegations are true, it is reasonable for Sweden to want his presence at this point in their process.

Assange did not violate any laws which would earn him a death sentence. In fact, since he's not a US citizen, I'm not even sure he did anything that would violate US or any international law. He had no obligations not to print anything he could get his hands on. What's he's most guilty of is being a hyperbolic, egomaniacal, biased son of a bitch.

Dianne Feinstein wants him tried for espionage, but that seems a stretch to me.

I am quite interested to know, however, where he gets the idea that a woman's body distinguishes rapes from consensual sex, and reacts to prevent pregnancy. I can honestly say, I have never in my life heard such a theory espoused by anyone, anywhere. I've tried to google this idea, and I have found nothing.

Has anyone asked numbnuts where he got this idea?
