China launches woman into space
China has launched its latest manned space mission - whose crew includes its first female astronaut, Liu Yang.

The Shenzhou-9 capsule rode to orbit atop a Long March rocket from the Jiuquan spaceport on the edge of the Gobi desert.

Ms Liu and her two male colleagues are heading to the Tiangong space lab.
...
What could possibly go wrong? Unless they let her try to park the thing... :?

Hey, they could send the extra girl babies into space and then have the capsule make a hard landing in say Utah, where they will happily raise the babies.

That's essentially how adopting from China works, without the space capsule.

China will be a gay man's paradise in fifty years.

I'm pretty sure most Mormons are still racist. It wasn't too many years ago that they considered Blacks non-human demons.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Nah, just turns out they'd been interpreting the Bible wrong. Especially that 19th Century add-on. Takes a lot of interpreting, that book. Sometimes you have to take each and every word "in context" or it winds up sounds like a goat-herders diatribe. Which it obviously isn't, because Mormons are not goat-herders. Obviously.

Have you ever read The Book of Mormon? It sure does take a lot of interpreting - it's worded as if it were written in a drug induced haze.

A psychiatrist once did a detailed analysis of the imagery in the Book of Mormon. Nobody would touch it. I wish I could have gotten hold of a copy.

Well, if you consider that a woman can have only a limited number of babies, whereas a man could, in theory at least, father a much, much larger number, doesn't it make sense to shoot, say, half the breeding-age women into space in order to curb runaway population growth? Excellent strategy, I say, as long as they don't threaten my personal poontang supply. :levi:

China's fertility is 1.73. Replacement rate is about 2.2. So the Chinese are already limiting their population growth very successfully.

By comparison, global average is 2.55. USA 2.05.

Obviously we need to shoot half the breeding age women in America into space permanently.
For every human action, there is a rationalisation and a reason. Only sometimes do they coincide.
