Oil?

Personally for reasons relating to both the local environment and climate change I'd much rather they just left any oil there right where it is.
But at the end of the day it's the Falklanders who have the final say on whether oil under their seabed is to be exploited, and, if it is to be exploited, it's their right to profit from that exploitation.

Maybe we should offer South Georgia (the island - not the State!) to the Palestinians as a homeland......
When the UN were discussing the establishment of a Jewish state and ofc settled on Palestine, one of the options put forward was that it should be established in the island of Madasca!

I'm trying to imagine how that would have played in east Africa over the decades!
That was the plan favoured by the Nazi's - even prewar.

Himmler even said "I hope that the concept of Jews will be completely extinguished through the possibility of a large emigration of all Jews to Africa or some other colony."......and that was in 1940.

The Holocaust was Plan B.....Plan Zyklon B :hehe: .

My guess is that would have ended badly with the nearby locals being "anti-Semitic" :fp: ......after a couple of millenia of not getting on with any other tribes that are in close proximity to, surely there must come a point when yer need to ask "is it me?" :ask: .

Hmm..I think the 'not getting on' was mainly due to the numerous eruptions of scapegoating in the form of 'pogroms', which killed millions of Jews throughout Europe and the middle easy over the millennia.

 The UN suggested that? I thought that was a Nazi idea.

In fact, it was:

There were a number of alternatives recommended or at least considered by the UN, the British and early Zionists including east Africa and Madagascar.

Scape Goating is kinda appropriate as the term originates from an early Jewish ritual......from litterally blaming a goat :hehe: .

But with the Jews it's a chicken and egg situation - refuse to integrate (and over time be absorbed into the host culture) and instead remain as an identifiable seperate group and you will get picked on......especially in times of unrest / when the money runs out. It's a human nature / pack animal thing (Fundamentally it has SFA to do with them being Jewish). Whether folk think that is a good thing or not is irrelevent - it's just a FACT :hehe: .

I can understand why the Jews want to keep being a seperate tribe - but it simply doesn't work whilst living amongst another tribe as you are both perceived as primarily looking to benefit selves (which can only come from others losing benefit and you actually are.

My take is that been going on so long (in every place that the Jews have gathered) that it is now a fundamental part of the Jewish identity and that as a group they now need "anti-Semitism" to continue.

Getting back on topic. The Argentine FA wants to rename it's top division as ... Crucero General Belgrano First Division

FIFA is suitably unimpressed:
