I'm late to the party. I have three issues with what he did:

1) Use open source software! It's cheaper!

2) Sell the laptop! It was worth money!

3) Don't let your emotions through during things like this. He should have done it steady... clam... that's much more effective. Anger can be quelled, but dispassionate justice is a bitch that knows no remorse.

Of course you can express your displeasure. But there are ways and there are ways. And some of those ways (I'm speaking generally here, not about you in particular) are inappropriate, or against forum rules.

So you insult the messenger?

Couldn't you tell, by the wording of the reminder, that the staff were also critical of Mr Jonno's post?

Can you possibly be unaware, given your long history here, that staff policy leaves us no option but to issue a reminder to Gallstones?

Finally, "I can't express my displeasure with MrJonno or the Mods"? Really? This is bollocks. You can express your displeasure with anything and everything here. What you can't do is do so in a way that includes personal insults and attacks.

Did I insult the messenger? I think not. I think I told her to fuck off. Telling someone to fuck off is not, as I understand it, a personal attack here. At least it hasn't been. It's friendly advice to, well, fuck off. It's an expression of endearment around here, as I see it, given how often it's used.
