I just re-read this, and it really fucking hurt - more than the first reading. And even though I know that it is somewhat factually inaccurate, and that it doesn't sit with what my intentions were, and that Richard has apologised, and that I've in some way set the record straight - it still upsets me. I get so stupidly worked up about things. I can be such an idiot. I can't bear myself, sometimes.

Sorry…

When I said "Richard has apologised" - I meant "I've apologised and Richard has accepted my apology". Crossed wires in my mind. :shifty:
Then they for sudden joy did weep,
And I for sorrow sung,
That such a king should play bo-peep,
And go the fools among.

Let it go, please. Stop hashing and rehashing of things that were said, things that were not said, things that might of have been said, thing that you'd like to have been said, things that were said but misunderstood, things that you want to make a point to say to set your record straight in your mind and others but not sure if they will be said, things that you think must be said, then again, those things maybe don't have to be said.................etc.

You'll drive yourself crazy. :nervous: :nervous:

If anything, you need to give some time and space to start looking this whole thing with a new perspective. It will help.
I have a very best friend (the one I mentioned that ran that foundation, very smart, intellectual to the max) with whom I use to exchange very long emails and they were not personal, nor intimate discussions. However, I would get ticked off if I didn't get a response the next day! What had happened, I learned later on, that the exchange of emails, while not directly speaking intimately, made me very turned on and I couldn't get enough of reading his words.

That was a long time ago. One thing I learned from him is when he told me, "type up a reply to me, then wait until the next day to re read it and then send it, if you still feel the same". Most times, I ended up, changing the words.

Sincerely,
Kiki

This is the part I agree with kiki, time will help.

But I don't think that LP should just "let it go", if she doesn't feel like that yet. I know how terrible it feels to become misunderstood, or misheard, and especially when you don't have a possibility to clear things up with the person involved. When you can't resolve things with that person, the second best thing to do is to talk with friends and unload your shame and frustration. I've heard "just let it go" dozens of times and it has helped me zero times. In fact, it just feels worse because the message can be easily read "we're tired of your whining, get over it". And there's nothing worse than being "forced" to forget something, and that will only leave it to simmer somewhere in subconscious, not really getting over it at all.

So lp and her intentions were misunderstood, ignored, she was linked to rather unpleasant words when she was only trying to be sincere. She feels bad for causing harm, and bad for being misunderstood, and can't really clear things up with Richard because she already said she won't disturb him anymore and contact with him would probably just do more harm than good. But there are friends who listen and understand, and I think LP should talk about it as long as she wants until she feels she wants to put this to the past. That will eventually happen.

Boreales,

As I, being one to have hit the replay button in my head over and over again, each time coming up with even more stuff, I realized it really is not good for me. It's like my thoughts take over and are on a highway of 1000 speed per minute and before I know what's really going on, I'm in another country.

Sometimes I find that my thoughts and feelings on the subject are "one sided" MY side. Coming to terms that I might have over accessed the subject was humbling (as it was embarrassing), as I was not seeing IT as everyone else was. It's not a big deal, we all go through it sometimes, it's just part of life. I learned to laugh at it as I also learned to handle it better as well.

That's all I was trying to say, I didn't tell LP or anyone NOT to think or what to do. I just suggested something that might be useful. Or not. I cannot control what others do, only what I do.

She feels bad for causing harm, and bad for being misunderstood, and can't really clear things up with Richard because she already said she won't disturb him anymore and contact with him would probably just do more harm than good.
And Richard won't contact ME to resolve it, because he's wary that I might take it as a come-on, and start installing fly-on-the-wall webcams around his house; sticking an iPhone under his car; emailing him about what he's having for tea; phoning him to tell him he needs to change his loo roll, and do it right this time; sending him a letter to tell him he forgot to put my last letter through the shredder before binning it, and abseiling in through a skylight window to rifle through his underwear drawer while he's on holiday.

:sigh:
Then they for sudden joy did weep,
And I for sorrow sung,
That such a king should play bo-peep,
And go the fools among.

Thoroughly enjoyable conversations over some drinks followed by a fantastic dinner with exquisite wines, and then that hotel room...

Yes, a typical rationalian meetup.

Four individuals is the lower limit set for a Ratz meet. Sexual contact involving some or all individuals present is also mandatory for a Ratz meet. You also need to face Cardiff while shagging and whisper a quick word of gratitude to Pappa, in Welsh, for what you are about to receive, and then remember to bin your condoms rather than flushing them. You also need to wipe your arse solely with your left hand using an even number of wipes and an odd number of toilet roll segments. And you need to spend at least 25% of the communal time in a Wetherspoons pub.

And if you don't manage all these things, you are ritually unclean and your Ratz meet is void. Seriously - this is all in the Arbitrations of The Clique, 3rd edition. :tea:

Newsflash: the 3rd edition was superseded not long after the wearing of "The Hat" was made redundant.

I have been in touch with my contacts in the Clique heirarchy who have duly informed me that wearing of The Hat was never made 'redundant'. It has simply been reduced to an 'optional custom' to observe during the Rationalia meet. They also gave me no suggestion as to the amendment of other rules and customs set out in the 3rd edition - although they did mention that the Clique Commandant was currently indisposed in his hot-tub with some female colleagues, a few boxes of wine, and a sizeable lump of cocaine - and it might be best to try again after the holiday period.

They were also quick to stress that that wasn't paid for by anyone's donations to Rationalia - but that they weren't going to tell me any more since they'd heard through the grapevine that I'm a stalking, harrassing, blackmailing little bastard, and they won't be giving me anything to latch onto. Maybe you'll have better luck. :td:
