Anyone think Zigmen might have been the traitor, hence no info given on his death? Would be typically Gonzoesque to try to balance his posted PM error with something like that.

@feck. What was your mindset when playing traitor with no info?

Hopefully there will be a janitor role that has the info on him
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

Code: Select all

// Replaces with spaces the braces in cases where braces in places cause stasis
   $str = str_replace(array("\{","\}")," ",$str);

Janitor vig?
The Janitor is an anti-Town role who "cleans up the body" after its kill, thus preventing players from learning anything about the player when they flip. At daybreak, it is simply said that the player died with no information about their role or their alignment.

Usually Janitor is X-Shot so as to not deny the Town too much information. In this case, the Janitor must choose whether or not to clean up the kill.

Janitor is usually anti-Town; however, Janitor Vigs have been known to exist (with the Janitor aspect compulsive).

a search for 'janitor' shows that was andrew:

andrewclunn wrote:It's not worth it to counter claim a scum fake cop claim on day 1, but is it generally considered a good idea to counter claim a doctor fake claim around here? I'd think not, so long as there's no janitor (as if there is a real doc, then when they die the fake claimer would be next to be lynched), so charlou's claim should go unanswered whether it's true or not. That said, I think we have to act as if it's true.
but he seems to be using it to mean jailkeeper, which is how my eyes read it at the time. This is the first i ever heard of janitor so it does seem weird that aza is now using that term

If there is a janitor involved, there may have been nothing weird about zig's role at all.

Intriguing stuff.

I did write a bit (and then didn't post it )about how I played Traitor ... Because I thought I did a good job of it and Maybe if we have a traitor they might not have grasped the subtleties so I'm not sure if I should tell you all how I played it just now .

Geez, I need to do a reread asap. I'd forgotten about his claim. So, can't be NK'd, is what he's saying. Interesting. In a gonzo game, that role might just be in play (in a raven game I'd never buy it.) If I were vig I'd be seriously tempted to try to kill him. Actually, I'm pretty sure that's what I'd do.

What is more interesting is contra's OTT response to zig's outing.

I'm adding contra nicely to the top of my scum pile.
iirc, zigmen claimed he can't be killed by friendly fire at night ... iow, scum can kill him.
ah, ok. That's a weird role claim. Zigmen and role claims, though... :? Scum could have a jailer role, and will jail zigmen tonight... Yeah, I guess I'm saying I don't buy zig's role claim.
