fixed calendar bill

Post by colubridae » Mon Oct 10, 2011 1:02 pm

Apparently 100 years ago a private members bill was introduced into the british parliament to regularise the months.
March, June, September and December would have 35 days, the other months would have 28 days.
Each month would then be started on Sunday and end on Saturday. Leap days would be tacked onto the end of feb as usual but would not be a weekday.

Can’t find anything on the web as to whether it’s true or not.

Because 13 is evil and unlucky and a sign of the devil? :ask: Or possibly even for some crazy reason?

Was it a dream or did I once read that Napoleon tried to decimalise time?
