What JimC wrote in your quote is most likely correct. I do, however, disagree with the political tactic he used. RD is bordering on entering into pure sophistry to support his agenda and slyly winking at an ugly thing to forward it (racism and xenophobia).

The Times Educational Supplement's website has a community area. I found this thread there: http://community.tes.co.uk/forums/p/524342/7045229.aspx

Oh, an unsolicited link with no context or explanation. How unhelpful.

Well, how would the Muslim girls be able to see into microscopes and telescopes out of their burkas? Or do they put girls in school in separate classes, to learn cooking and laundry and useful stuff?

I read the first page of comments. It was interesting as an insight into how the 'public' views it and what their arguments always descend to. :dunno:

Oh you mean just an unreconsitituted personal insult like this one you used before? I thought you might have been doing some play on Dawkins's first name (no, not Clinton). At least that would have been slightly on topic.

You mean the public don't venerate Dawkins like they you think they should? Thank God for the public then.

No, I mean the argument becomes polarized around the old chestnut of 'science is right, religion is wrong, therefore you're an idiot' or vice versa.
