Docklands light railway is driverless?

They do fly themselves. The flight computer can do everything. The pilots can sleep all the way through if they wanted, which I'm sure many do. Don't know why you still have 2 or 3 overly paid "pilots" on every plane, they are obsolete.
The pilots do the take off, landing and anything tricky en route. The autopilot does the easy coasting along bit.

There are such systems around, right enough. There's a driverless train at Basel airport. Attitudes are changing to such things

That's just what happened on the Rio-Paris flight...

and I'm dreading the fact that the metro line by my home is being shifted to automated systems, with trains that don't even have a place for the driver.
The other line that's like that works like a charm, but the day it fucks up, I don't wanna guess how long it will take to fix.

In case something goes wrong, I guess, like flocks of geese requiring planes to land in the Hudson River, and whatnot.

If a plane had no cockpit, it would be impossible to hijack it....unless you had an app on your iPhone I suppose.

She made it go soft. :coffee:

Anyway, you just put a bomb onboard the plane, then have a second party communicate with the airline. Tell them "The plane goes HERE or it goes BOOM. You pick."

What if the cockpit and general plane had different entry doors? :ask:
You could totally seal it off from the rest of the plane.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

To the contrary, it was the humans who caused the crash:

Granted they were out of practice because they used the computers so much.

Pappa, while it's true that autopilots of 30 years ago could only handle the easy parts, today's autopilots can do takeoffs and landings just fine.
