If you could read, and wanted to read the article, you would have realised that the Gorilla in question was hand reared by a doctor of psychology after being rescued from a failing zoo. After the gorilla began gesturing for water and food in her new caring captivity, the doctor created a study which has ensued for the last forty years to demonstrate the intelligence of Great Apes, and their capacity for linguistic expression. She now understands over two thousand spoken words, and innumerable paralinguistic gesticulations. Shes fluent in American sign language, in other words.

The investigation has even transcended its original intentions, performing as a way to educate and to deter Africans from poaching them for bush-meat. Kokos quality of life has even meant that shes lived beyond average gorilla life expectancy.

It's just a cat, which are technically vermin, so I don't see what the problem is
