Re: Discworld Day 3
What the fuck is all this shit about volcanoes from DP? I've never read a page of any of the books so the flavor means nothing to me.

I was going to ask the same thing.MattShizzle wrote:What the fuck is all this shit about volcanoes from DP? I've never read a page of any of the books so the flavor means nothing to me.

My general impression is that he has given mixed signals, some townish some more scummy. I'll try to reread MZ' contributions from previous game days in a while and look at specific things.Athene wrote:Very true. On that note, what do people think of magic ziggy?

Re: Discworld Day 3
I noted last night that I didn't trust him (when I voted for Ksen rather than RC), but I'm going to have to go back and re-read everything to put my finger on why. I have to do a couple of hours of work before I can get to that. I'm self-aware enough to know I'm prone to trolley-tracking, so I'm going to try to do it with an open mind.Athene wrote:Very true. I also realize I was wrong about why I suspected RC, so I'm going to look a him, too, in a fresh light. He's moved toward Town, for me at least, for now.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Yikes! I just now saw DP's first few posts about the volcanoes in last night's chat. Obviously, he's been cursed somehow, but I can't make head nor tails of it yet.

Are you OK now, DP?
Volcanoes? No clue yet.

Discworld Day 3
Thank you. I should have realized that these weren't throw sways but actual references to the books.amok wrote:It's the "flavour" of the game topic, Barnett, using the original material. When Zigmen's reveal said Ksen was "allergic to danger," I Googled Discworld and that phrase, and up popped the section on Rincewind, who's a comically incompetent "wizzard." He's a big chicken, but nothing about his discription suggests evil, so I figured Ksen was Town. I did the same re: The Luggage, and that's why I thought Oblivion had been Scum killed rather than UT killing her with an invention. The Luggage eats landscape as well as people and things, and Zigmen said the cause of the missing landscape was nearby - dead Oblivion.BarnettNewman wrote:This flavour everyone's talking about has me perplexed. I guess it's an acquired taste that I will have to obtain over the next few games.
Ksen, your attempt to get lynched almost worked. Either you are being truthful about your role or you slipped up by posting that you were blocked and made up a very creative reasoning. while I am obviously no judge of flavour it seems believable.
I will reserve my lynch vote for now.

Re: Discworld Day 3
Never mind. I just Googled Volcano & Each of Our Names, and got hits for almost all of us (including me - ha!).
Going back to the game threads and maybe the Discworld sites, but that was getting a bit ridiculous.
