Are you sure the hair is why women secretly want to kill you? ;) :razzle:
Your current predicament is not evidence for your short hair preference, and I knew you were going to say that. Why else would women have such feelings towards me? Chicks love a cheeky chappy. Especially you Yanks. The English accent is an aphrodisiac in USA...

(The current predicament is not as such anymore)

Yes, I suppose you're right about the accent. Too bad it doesn't work in reverse... American accents hold no cachet whatsoever. :?

Don't I feel like the fucking asshole...

Moving on, I dunno about the American accent, rednecks sound dense, the mobster Italian Bronx thing sounds comic book. But the Southern Belle drawl eg Calleigh Duqesne of CSI Miami will always stop me in my tracks. I fucking hate Dawson's Creek American, that false, over pronounced, Sarah Michelle Gellar style thing, but when I hear that gentle Southern accent...

don't really keep copies of books long enough to form a bookshelf.
a good book is for reading then passing on for others to enjoy.
unless it has personal meaning to you or is a rare copy.

Ditto. My bookshelf would be so much bigger if I didn't give all but my favourite books away (I have bought Zarathustra 4 times and given it away 3).

and who didn't live a couple of thousand miles away...

Someday, when I own a house again, the one luxury I would really like in it is quality built-in bookshelves. :begging:
