50. Thor - Nowhere near as bad as I had heard from some quarters. A bit too laboured in the middle but the good bits were pretty damn good. I think the Avengers film is going to be one to see!

51. Hanna - I actually liked this as well. There was a tad too much obvious explanation, a few loose ends that never got tied up, and some of the contrast between Hanna's familiarity with some things she had never encountered and her fear/apprehension with others was a little naff. But, overall, it was an enjoyable watch and I loved the pace of the film. Saoirse Ronan, the actress that played Hanna, was excellent - she was great in Atonement as well - one to watch!

number whatevah: X-Men First Class. Meh. Started out awesome, great early scenes, and had the feel of a real film as opposed to a superhero movie. Thought it was really gonna be something. Though got progressively lamer as it went along. Too many shitty soap opera type actors with no fucking personality. And who are all these stupid gay mutants I never heard of and don't give a shit about? What's wrong with using established characters? Why create new shitty ones?
Not as great a story and character development as I was led to believe.
Too many WTF moments in the story. Like why Magneto didn't kill Kevin Bacon right at the start when he had his temper tantrum after his mother was murdered.
Although I love James McAvoy (so great in Wanted), his Prof X came across here as wimpy, whiny and annoying. The good guys are always less appealing than the bad guys. And yet Magneto was fucking bland. The others (the ones that weren't totally lame, at least) just came across as okay. Mystique steals the show again by virtue of her being blue, sexy, and naked.
Speaking of blue. Having two blue characters (Mystique and Beast) seemed kinda stupid to me. Kinda lessens the visual impact of either one when there's two of them, and the same shade of blue no less.
The character I liked best after Mystique was Banshee. He didn't have a heck of a lot to do. But he sure was cute.

The vast majority of the scenes include lengthy dialogue between six year old children, talking about death, god and heaven as a girl attempts to come to terms with her mother's death, yet they seem completely natural and unscripted. Well worth watching. )
