Keep your hands off the Guardian, incompetent rozzers

Post by Clinton Huxley » Fri Sep 16, 2011 3:28 pm

The metropolitan police, bastion of justice, competence and incorruptibility that they are, are planning to use the Official Secrets Act to force Guardian journalists to reveal their sources for the Milly Dowler phone hacking scandal. To which I say - fuck off, Metropolitan Police. Come on Guardian, give these rozzers a damned good thrashing.

What you said. I read that commie rag every day.
“I wish no harm to any human being, but I, as one man, am going to exercise my freedom of speech. No human being on the face of the earth, no government is going to take from me my right to speak, my right to protest against wrong, my right to do everything that is for the benefit of mankind. I am not here, then, as the accused; I am here as the accuser of capitalism dripping with blood from head to foot.”

John Maclean (Scottish socialist) speech from the Dock 1918.

The Guardian is a good paper basically becauses is a semi-charity, it doesnt need to make a profit , which is the main reason the BBC is so good as well

There was a report about that in our newspaper today. Sounds like sour grapes from the coppers - conflict of interest is what it seems like...

I'm surprised that the Guardian and other papers aren't ready for this tactic from the government or police.
There must be ways of organising the channels that a leak comes through to hide the source.
In the end, there probably was money paid, and that's what the Met is hoping.

If I was the home secretary, I would make sure that they had to drop this. It's one of those cases where the leak really DID do a public service, and the only losers were the corrupt people at the top of the Met and the News of the World, which was rubbish anyway.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

I think this may fall foul of European human rights law. Besides which, the Guardians reputation can only be enhanced by telling the 'tards at the Met to do one.
