Gunmen have ambushed a school bus on the outskirts of the north-western Pakistani city of Peshawar, killing at least five children, police say.

The driver was also killed and 19 other children were wounded in the attack in Matani about 20km (12 miles) south of the city centre, police said.

Which explains their exceedingly low hit average I suppose. Seems Allah isn't too keen on them hitting Americans or anyone else. They opened fire on a school bus with automatic weapons and only killed SIX? We'd kick a SEAL out of the military for being that combat ineffective.

Context for Beirut. My friend took me to a large house on the edge of town. The host took us up on the roof and offered us each a 81mm mortar round. When I declined he dropped it down the tube himself. I asked him what he was aiming at and he gestured at the other side of the Line.

Did you try to stop him? Did you pull out a pistol and blow that cocksucker's brains all over the roof? Did you shove that 81mm mortar round up his ass? Did you beat him to death with the tube and then blow his fucking house off the face of the map? Did you report him to the authorities and testify at his trial? Did you do ANYTHING to prevent or report the crime? Did you beat the crap out of your "friend" for having the unmitigated gall to make you a participant in a war crime that could have gotten you killed or imprisoned for life? I hope you at least cut off all contact with your "friend" and reported him to the police as someone with knowledge about terrorist activities so he could be waterboarded if necessary to reveal the information.

If you didn't, you're a fucking coward and just as responsible as he was for any injury or death because you allowed it to happen while you just stood there with your thumb up your ass doing nothing.

Well, (and I don't really believe you, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt) good for you!

Of course, there's the small matter of those who might have gotten killed because you did not act immediately to prevent the rounds from being launched in the first place. Your desire for self-preservation doesn't relieve you of the moral and ethical burden for that inaction. You stood by and allowed a crime against humanity by a terrorist to take place without even attempting to intervene, even at risk to your own life. I call that cowardice.

Yes, I might have gotten killed attempting to stop such an act, but that's preferable to having to live with the knowledge that I did nothing and men, women and children died because of my refusal to place myself at risk.

It would have been better for you to PREVENT the round from being fired in the first place by acting immediately, even if that involved blowing yourself up with the house by detonating any remaining mortar rounds or at least dropping an armed round down the stairs to make sure that no rounds could be fired AT ALL.

That's the courageous thing to do. What you did in waiting and letting someone else do the dirty work (despite your assertion, you didn't "get" anything, all you did was pass information...too little, too late), was cowardly.
