Do Governments Represent Their People?
Do Governments Represent Their People?
I'm tired of the dumb comments by some here saying that governments don't represent them. They are wrong. Your government officially represents you. What your government does reflects on who you are.

I disagree. Governments should represent their people, but they rarely do.

Nonetheless, as a citizen, you are responsible for what your government does.

Why? I have no control over what Washington does.Gawd wrote:Nonetheless, as a citizen, you are responsible for what your government does.

You as the people voted Washington into power. You reap the benefits and you must also bear the responsibility.Gawdzilla wrote:Why? I have no control over what Washington does.Gawd wrote:Nonetheless, as a citizen, you are responsible for what your government does.

Most people don't vote. What about them? And as Warren pointed out, what if we voted against the people in power. You political agenda is to blame the citizens of the US terrible things because you don't like the government's actions. You do that with the Jews as well. It's ridiculous and lame.Gawd wrote:You as the people voted Washington into power. You reap the benefits and you must also bear the responsibility.Gawdzilla wrote:Why? Re: Do Governments Represent Their People?
You as a people still voted Washington into power. By your constitution and laws, they are your President and leaders even if you don't like them. You can't just disobey your leaders simply because they won the election over your preferred choices. Democracy doesn't work that way.Warren Dew wrote:What if we voted against the ones that actually went?Gawd wrote:You as the people voted Washington into power. Re: Do Governments Represent Their People?
Obama is still your President even if you didn't vote. George Bush is still your President even if you didn't vote. As a people, you chose your leaders. You don't just choose to disobey and disown them simply because you are too lazy to vote or your candidate lost the election. That's not democracy, yah know?Gawdzilla wrote:Most people don't vote. In your fantasy world. Come to reality. It's cold and hard, but your brain might crawl out of that pit eventually, if you try.Gawd wrote:This is how democracy works.Gawdzilla wrote:Fuck off with your guilt by association stupidity.Gawd wrote:You as a people still voted Washington into power.
