A local nut job.
This guy posts in our local paper, his latest bullshit.
"COME ON, Mr Scaife (Letters, August 27). I didn’t introduce the Big Bang –you did. I simply paraphrased the theory.
What is described is an explosion, even though there is no “bang”. I bet even the junior school knows you can’t have a bang in a vacuum. If there was a “singularity” to start with, what was it and where did it come from? It seems you are employing smoke and mirrors.
It doesn’t matter what is observed by any satellite, the interpretation of the observations is made by a human being and is based on speculation – not knowledge, and comes with a large slice of predetermination. Most evolutionists know there are holes in their theories that make them unacceptable, but they go on believing because the only alternative is an intelligent creator-God which they choose to make even more unacceptable. That’s not science; that is religion.

This is what I said.
Which is the most credible, a talking snake or the theory of evolution Mr. Barnes?

“I wish no harm to any human being, but I, as one man, am going to exercise my freedom of speech. No human being on the face of the earth, no government is going to take from me my right to speak, my right to protest against wrong, my right to do everything that is for the benefit of mankind. I am not here, then, as the accused; I am here as the accuser of capitalism dripping with blood from head to foot.”

One problem I've always had with the creation myth is who god was talking to.
When he said "let there be light", was he talking to himself?
Is god a loony? It makes sense !!

Re: A local nut job.
He was probably misquoted. He actually said 'Give us a light', but who to - and who knew he smoked is equally puzzling!
Re: A local nut job.
I've heard several television evangelists talk about the 'hundreds' and a couple of times even 'thousands' of prophecies in the bible, and yet never do they ever actual say any of what they are. I seem to have noticed the same when reading articles about evolution; they talk about the holes in the theory, but never actually mention what they are, like a parrot repeating what they have heard before. If they would say what they are then the conversation could continue with research on the claimed holes.

I think of the "holes in evolution" argument like an inkjet printer photograph of the Eifel Tower.
If you zoom in close enough, you can see that it's nothing but a page of dots, with loads of missing areas.
But when you zoom out, it's obvious that it's the Eifel Tower, and only an idiot, or someone who refused to look, could say otherwise.

Please don't get them started on the "hundreds and thousands" thing again, pcCoder.

The Theory of Evolution, which is our best evaluation of who Evolution works, and is still being refined.
AND
Evolution, a process which has been shown to work in so many studies that to deny its existence is simply asinine.

Yeh, that complete arse, William Lane Craig, actually accepts micro evolution, but denies that it could go any farther.
It's like saying "sure, a bricklayer built that wall, but that doesn't mean that one could have built this house". I still think god made it.

They claim we never see a mouse give birth to a moose. And for good reason, but not the reasons they claim. Huge changes in the genome are almost always fatal to the fetus.mistermack » wrote:Yeh, that complete arse, William Lane Craig, actually accepts micro evolution, but denies that it could go any farther.

I don't know why I bothered but I just did a google search for Bible prophesy related sites including for prophesies which have actually come true.
It is of course, all balderdash and none of them have except in the most broad and general way - the way your 'stars' do in the newspapers.

It's more complex than that. If I remember correctly all the theological bollocks I've read , the the voice of God is not God and that this Voice of God's (I think its some archangel) words create reality. What I always wondered is why no-one ever caught thatthe Voice of God by bringing forth light is the Lightbringer, Lucifer. I mean it's right there in the first paragraph.mistermack » wrote:One problem I've always had with the creation myth is who god was talking to.

Seems like a massive plot hole to me.

Actually, he had a voice-activated computer doing the job. Made in China, of course.Audley Strange » wrote:It's more complex than that. I've not read the 2050 Manadrin revised version yet.
