Winds getting stronger now; 20 kts gusting to 35. Will get worse tonight. 11 hours of rain and counting.

But I won't be getting a direct hit here. My friends in Virginia Beach/Norfolk are getting nailed right now.

Right now it's raining rather hard, but no signifignat wind - trees/power lines are either still or barely swaying - maybe 10 mph winds if that. Pressure in my yard at 994 millibars - about normal since I'm several hundred feet above sea level.

Wind's picking up now, but still not too bad. At least one tornado touched down near Lewes at the south end of the state, and they're saying 35,000 in the state without power now.
Who needs a signature anyway?

Actually it isn't even raining hard I took my beer bottles out to the recycling - pretty much like a typical spring shower - some rain and very little wind. No thunder or lightning.

Holy shit. I did exactly the same, took my beer bottles out to the recycling bin this morning. Wanted to go outside, get some fresh air, and see what was up. What was up was not too much. Raining, but not raining all that hard. And intermittently a little breezy. That's it :dunno:
Still early yet, though. And the wind seems to have picked up a bit and is steady now. But still nothing crazy. Just windy is all.

Water is turned off now by landlord, ostensibly to avoid sewer pipes from backing up. I hardly see as how that's necessary at this point. There's nothing out of the ordinary going on outside just yet.
Also, I've gone to the bathroom but can't flush the toilet :?
Also, I can't wash my hands. It's driving me crazy. I never realized before, but it appears as if I'm a compulsive hand washer :dunno:
