Source Code. Boring title and bland unappealing CD case. Started the film and assaulted by obnoxious cheesy and ridiculously overdramatic music score. Despite this...was good. Did enjoy

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

Never even heard of it. It was awesome too. I felt like I should have given it a 5, but I liked The Fall a teeny tiny bit more.Animavore wrote:I told you The Cell was teh awesome. Or did you see it before?

Super. It's another pseudo real life kinda superhero movie like Kick-Ass and...um...that other one I can't remember. Thought it'd be kinda lame but it was actually pretty good. Plus there was an awesome Cheap Trick song featured prominently in the soundtrack. And there was a cute bunny at the end. So yeah.
I think it was this Cheap Trick song, if I recall:

Re: The 150 movie challenge (?) 2011
I watched Zathura last night, a kid's movie related to Jumanji (both based on books by an author whose name I forget*). I never watched Jumanji. Maybe it was good? I don't know. But it seemed kinda stupid to me at the time, and plus it also had Robin Williams in it. Williams can be great, given the right role, but most of the time I find him annoying. Anyway, I was checking out Jon Favreau because I thought it was interesting how he went from great buddy comedies with his friend Vince Vaugn in Swingers and Made, to big budget action flicks like Iron Man and Cowboys and Aliens. What was the missing link? The missing link was apparently Zathura.
I went into Zathura not expecting much. But I found I actually enjoyed it quite a lot. It was a kid's movie that didn't underestimate the intelligence of kids, and didn't insult the intelligence of adult viewers. It was a lot of fun, moved right along, plenty of action, but was grounded by a good script with some nice character interaction and believable relationships, and acted pretty well. The child actors did decent job, and weren't annoying as child actors sometimes are.
Worth a watch if you want some lighthearted fun.
Now I need to check out Elf, another mid-period Favreau film. This is another film I dismissed when it came out. I didn't like Will Farrell at the time, but my opinion of him has grown much more favorable. And since I like Favreau's touch, I need to give this a watch.

Re: The 150 movie challenge (?) 2011
Ma Vie En Rose (My Life In Pink). About a kid who likes to wear dresses and wants to be a girl when he grows up. I can't relate to that specifically, but I can relate to being different growing up and not fitting in. Very well made film that got me choked up a fair few times. My recollection from watching it years ago was that the ending was a fantasy sequence, and thus left the film wither a proper resolution in my view. Turns out my recollection was wrong. The fantasy sequence precedes the ending, an ending which I'd completely forgotten. And while the ending didn't give any concrete answers (how could it, in fairness?), it did wrap things up well enough.

I checked this one out. It's Nicholas Roeg. I've only ever seen two of his films. I didn't have much use for Walkabout, but I loved The Man Who Fell to Earth. This one, Don't Look Now, looks pretty good, at least from the write-up on Wiki.Pappa wrote:241. Equilibrium - **.5
