Labor unions have a long and disreputable history of using violence against those who don't wish to be part of the union, both as employers and as ordinary workers, whom union goons call "scabs."Coito ergo sum wrote:http://www.myfoxal.com/story/15273318/l ... =printable
In one of the most violent union actions in US history, the Colorado Coalfield War, which went on for two years beginning in 1913, which included the "Ludlow Massacre," union coal miners in Colorado who were on strike attacked, harassed and murdered replacement workers and destroyed property and were themselves attacked by the Colorado National Guard on orders of the Governor. The violence escalated on both sides until there was an outright armed insurrection taking place between the Colorado National Guard and the strikers, who attacked and burned more than 50 coal mines. As many as 199 people died in the conflict, depending on who you ask.
The violence was stopped by federal troops dispatched by Woodrow Wilson in 1914.
SEIU goons were filmed attacking private individuals attending health care town hall meetings most recently.
