There are so many roads needing repair over here, that would never apply. We're still waiting for repairs to potholes created last winter.Psychoserenity wrote:Well yes you are right assuming that's true - but are you sure? No, but it's escaped your notice, you, who have threatened to shoot unarmed IRS agents if they set foot on your daddy's ranch.Seth wrote:Evidently it escaped your notice that police have a right to life as well, and a right to go home uninjured and unburned at the end of their shift, and so they have a right to use deadly force in self-defense, and petrol bombs are absolutely justification for the use of deadly force.MrJonno wrote:Did it ever occur to you that there are PEOPLE in those buildings? That's exactly what happened at a recent G8 (or G20) riot, where anarchists with gasoline bombs murdered a bank teller by burning her to death. Did it ever occur to you that fires SPREAD to other occupied structures and can create firestorms, particularly when rioters prevent the fire department from suppressing the fires? Fuck the rioters, if they are holding a gasoline bomb, they need to be instantly dead by sniper round to the head. I volunteer to go over there and personally shoot anyone holding a gasoline bomb myself if the Brits haven't got the balls. Call out the fucking army with machine guns. But do something besides stand there with your thumb up your ass letting murderers and arsonists get away with it.[/quote
Nah, that's just stupidity.Real guts is facing a riot unarmed or armed and not firing.Evidently not the fools in the UK. People generally don't throw petrol bombs during riots in the US because they WILL get shot.Any fool can shoot a a teenager with a petrol bomb.
Not aware of any situation in recent British history where anyone other the police or the rioters got hurt (well the police may have beaten up a few people they mistook for rioters)

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

The riots are caused by not enough money circulating. Why steal when you can afford to buy? The answer is to print more money and to execute all the economists who keep getting rich by telling people not to print enough money.

There is no such thing as "public sector money" anyway, because the public sector is a cost. It is not involved in revenue generation, which is why money is raised by corporation tax, income tax, VAT, and other arbitrary charges.
What you call "public sector money" is more correctly called taxpayers money.

I think the idea of the tax-payer being the source of the money supply or it's value is just dumb. Most 'private enterpiss' in the UK especially involves people doing one anothers laundry. The capatalist system today is kept going by printing more money - and soon we're entering the exponential bit of the printing more money game called hyper-inflation. Then your gonna see real riots.Cormac wrote:This is nonsense. A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.
